Solution for 0ANALYSIS Issue while trying to access ‘Open in Design Studio’ option of S/4HANA CDS Views

Hello Friends,

S/4 HANA is an buzz word in SAP Industry and by now, you might be aware that we have some Embedded Analytics available within S/4 HANA. On such option is the ‘Open in Design Studio’.

When you log into the Fiori Launchpad of an S/4 HANA System. We have an option called “Query Browser”.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/1_881210.png

The available CDS views (List Format) are available within the Query Browser.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/2_881211.png

You have the option of selecting any CDS view and Open the same in ‘Design Studio’ mode.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/3_881212.png

Unfortunately while trying to perform the above step, we are getting the following error. “Application 0ANALYSIS could not be loaded’.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/4_881216.png

Also, in some cases, the design studio page will not open and will keep hanging in the following screen.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/5_881218.png

Later some time, nothing happens and the system goes back to the CDS View List page.

If you give this to a UI5 Expert, he/she might come up asking you if the following service has something to with BW/BI

Solution: It’s a good news for the BW consultants that we still have some BW relevant components in S/4 HANA Analytics.

Now what is the real Solution?

Yes, your UI5 consultant is right.

0ANALYSIS is an BW/BI relevant component.

Go to RSOR tcode in the S4HANA backend System.

Navigate to the following Object Type:

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/8_881222.png

Move it to the right pane and install.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/9_881223.png

On successful installation, you can find that the issue is solved and your Design studio access to the corresponding CDS view would now be available.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/10_881224.png

The solution is quite simple, but in case if you are not aware of this workaround, you might end up spending a lot of time for debugging.

Unfortunately, sometimes the issue itself will not be correctly shown in fiori side.

Hope this document was helpful.

There are lot of debates running around in the Analytics world about the future existence of BW and like always there is only one reply to that “BW is here to Live and it will survive for sure

I will come up with more documents here in this space, through which we the BW consultants have solid valid points to debate that BW has enough significance, even in S/4 HANA Embedded Analytics.

Regards,

Prabhith

      Hi Anni,

I guess I did the same mistake:

Please look at the second screen shot --> do not click on "Analysis Process" but rather on "Analysis application".

      Regards,

      Ingolf

Can you update the images please - you need to go in more types to get 0ANALYSIS - not as the screen above shows and some of the comments.

It is confusing to show the wrong screens - and it seems like others have made the same mistake

But thanks for the blog - useful

      Hello Mark Chalfen,

      Thanks for the info.

I have retained only the second 2nd screenshot.

The First one which was making the confusion has been deleted.

      Hope this brings more clarity.

Thx for blog. We faced similar issue. followed the blog and issue resolved.

we did face another error related to RSA_ODATA Service, after adding it to FE N/w Gateway... now it does open Design studio, however the No-Dimentions are fetched & also the Query-name is not displayed ... Wondering If we still need to do some set-up.

Thanks for the very helpful information.

Just to clarify, if you're using a separated installation of Fiori and S/4HANA, then you'll need to activate 0ANALYSYS in Fiori box through the procedure mentioned in this blog as well (also an SAP Web Dispatcher is mandatory).

      Hi All,

      Our issue solved.

      As below OData services configured,

Configuration of OData service to fetch template 0ANALYSIS from Backend Server:
The template 0ANALYSIS is part of the Design Studio runtime and therefore must be fetched from the same server as the Design Studio UI Library. This and other templates are loaded with the OData service RSAO_ODATA_SRV.

      Thanks,
      Sekhar

We are going to use cost center hierarchy of BW, and standard CDS views of S4hana to consolidate in the composite provider for a reporting requirement.

Please advise how do I activate and use Bw's component in embedded s4 hana to load cost center extractor and MD objects.

      Thank You

      DR

Wonderful blog However i did not understand why you did the installation is it specific to the CDS view or in general for the CDS to be accessed from the SAP launch pad ?
