SAP Code Jam Exclusive Edition @ General Mills, Mumbai
Continuing with our tradition of partnering with SAP to host Code Jam in General Mills India office, we hosted yet another series this year on 26th and 27th November. What made it special this time is Exclusive Edition, i.e. exclusively conducted for General Mills Employees with the content tailored for our needs.
This was a 2-day event and topics were “SAPUI5 development using Web IDE’ and ‘SAP Gateway’.
SAP Experts Ashish Kumar and Ponraj E conducted the sessions. We were awestruck by their expertise in respective areas and depth and breadth of knowledge.
Day 1 started with Web IDE introduction and basic overview and then we tried out some basic UI controls to get an understanding of SAPUI5. We then moved on to create a SAPUI5 App from existing templates and tried to enhance those.
On Day 2, we switched gears and turned to SAP Gateway. This day also started with basic introduction and overview of SAP Gateway followed by an in-depth exercise to create a Gateway service and register and expose it.
Now comes the most interesting piece, integration of exercises of both days. We created a SAPUI5 app and consumed a Gateway service we had created in the first half of the day. There were some challenges, however it was fulfilling to see that our services were being hit.
Hands on Exercises on both the days were interspersed with questions, discussions, knowledge sharing and lot of learning.
And of course there was good food and lot of fun.
Special Thanks to Craig Cmehil, Krishna Dalal and SAP experts Ashish Kumar and Ponraj E for supporting and making this happen.
Agree Shibha!
It was great Learning and Development experience.
Both the topics (SAPUI5 using WebIDE and SAP Gateway) and its contents were very engaging and had a lot of fun too.
Thanks Ashish and Ponraj!
