HCP Mobile Services Trial Availability and More

Hi,

I’m very proud to announce that we serve over 4300 trial accounts at the moment. I’m really exciting about the attention mobile services are getting. According to the numbers HCP mobile services is among the top HCP services.

Nevertheless, some of you may have experience partial unavailability of mobile services in the past few weeks. As this is very unfortunate for a cloud service and we have taken immediate action to resolve the current situation – which is to some degree caused by the outstanding success so far.

As you know there are some differences between a trial landscape and and productive landscapes – some of them can be seen immediate. For example, on trial you can only have two mobile apps configured, while this limitation is obviously not existing on our productive landscapes. Other differences are “under the hood”, like failover or high availability setups.

In order to give you the cloud experience you deserve, we will migrate to a more sustainable setup in our trial landscape in order to give outages no chance.

In the next few days you’ll see some temporary but planned, short times of unavailability of HCP mobile services where we migrate the existing subscriptions into the new setup. For some accounts this could even mean that you need to reconfigure your mobile application configuration when the migration has completed, but we do everything possible to prevent this.

But this is not the only thing we are working on.

Next year you will see HCP mobile services advancing in an amazing pace and we will start with a firework of mobile features that you were waiting for. As an appetizer:

HCP mobile services will provide out-of-the box integration with HCP document services, allowing you to leverage cloud storage in your applications at your fingertips.

Stay tuned and Have Fun,

Martin

      Dear Martin

Could it be that the same problem has re-surfaced for some users?

Currently I have trouble with onboarding devices on HCPms trial, it is impossible to delete application settings, when editing application settings, I get weird behavior, and so on.

(see the following discussion for more detail: HCPms onboarding broken on Hana trial?).

Are there any known problems with HCPms application management and onboarding? Do you have any ideas how I might be able to resolve this problem or what might be the best channel to report it?

      Thanks a lot!

      Christian
