Did you know… Improved Self-Service Support?

We hope it never happens but occasionally you may encounter a warning or error message in Lumira. Often there is a resolution, but you have to search SAP Notes and Knowledge Base Articles (KBA) to find the answer… or you contact SAP Support directly.

Fortunately there is now an easier way. Starting in Lumira v1.28, if a warning or error occurs which includes an error code, the message will now additionally include a link to search for SAP Notes and articles about the error.

In this example I get an error when trying to update an existing Lumira document…

Now when I click the embedded link, a KBA appears which links to an SAP Note. This correctly explains that someone has set the document properties to “read only”. It further explains that the issue can be resolved by changing the document properties to “read / write” or to use the “Save As” option and use a different filename.

With this improvement, self-service support should be much faster.

“Did you know…” is a series of short blogs by the BI & Analytics Competence Centre, a global team within SAP engineering focused 100% on customer success. They are a useful reminder of Lumira hints, tips and best practices.
