Installing and Running the Advantage Database Server on a Windows Cluster.

The Advantage Database Server can be installed on a Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) to provide fail-over capabilities. Advantage does not currently support Network Load Balancing, which distributes incoming IP traffic among multi-node clusters. Additionally, the Advantage Database Server does not currently support automatic recovery. Because in-memory information, including file handles, is lost when a node fails; Advantage client applications must re-connect to the Advantage Database Server after a fail-over.

Prerequisites:

This help file assumes that you have an existing Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS).
