The new features in iOS9 are about integrated apps, multitasking, intelligence and further general improvements.

There are shortcut buttons either side of the QuickType suggestions on the system keyboard, one of these can format notes into a to-do list with check boxes. The multitasking feature lets you view two apps side by side. One occupies about a third of the screen, sliced vertically off the right-hand side (called Slide Over). Siri now can learn from your habits and anticipate.

Further improvements of the operating system enhance performance, battery life, and security.
