Perhaps you've heard of Humans of New York (HONY), the five-year-old vibrant photograph-blog-turned-#1-New-York-Times-best-selling-book run by a man named Brandon that provides a worldwide audience with daily glimpses into the lives of the people in New York City. Inspired by HONY, we decided to do our own spinoff and call it Humans of SAPsv. Each week, through the end of December, we'll feature three employees complete with their picture, name, title, Twitter handle, and snippets of their passion for SAP, their commitment to their colleagues and community, and what inspires them both inside and outside of SAP.

If you're interested in the chance to be featured in Humans of SAPsv, please email Magen Petit. Enjoy learning more about your colleagues and share your comments below!

What are you passionate about at SAP?

I've always felt it's my job to help make people's day better. It’s always great to see people’s faces when they come by expecting the worst and I can make their experience with IT that much less painful. Another thing that I’m passionate about is when someone comes up to me saying “I’d really like to do this…(whatever kind of project)” and it’s something that I can help them do, whether it’s showing them some program that they didn’t know they had, or it’s some innovative use of hardware that just makes life easier on them and their fellow SAPers.

What’s your favorite thing about working at SAP?

The diversity of people I get to work with. Working with SAP, you get to meet people of so many different backgrounds, both geographically and educationally. I really feel there’s always someone I can talk to in order to expand my knowledge of the world.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?

To know the exact right thing to say at the right time to have the desired outcome. Who wouldn’t though, right? Some people may say they want to fly, or read minds. But I think the greatest super power of all time would be the ability to know exactly what to do with the information you have and when the best time to use it is.

What’s your favorite song?

Currently, it’s a tossup of either Papaoutai @Stromae or Megitsune by @BABYMETAL_JAPAN. I know those songs probably couldn’t be more different, but I like to keep my musical tastes eclectic. Keeping myself from being too limited, musically, I feel helps me be open to the possibility of other ideas that I may not have originally been open to.

What are you passionate about at SAP?

As an MBA and marketer, I am particularly passionate about SAP’s ongoing transformation and vision of simplicity being key, as my holistic utopia market perception is based on the uncomplicatedness of the IoT that simplifies our lives rather than complicates it.

What’s your favorite thing about working at SAP?

SAP, being a global equal opportunity employer, whose optimizing and connecting the world through software and technology cross-culturally in a professional manner, inspires me and empowers me to dream bigger. Giving back to the community through corporate initiatives and making that positive impact that is so necessary, to not only build brand equity and awareness, but to create and foster the general well being of the organization and its stakeholders, are also things that make me proud to be an SAP employee.

What’s something not many people would know about you?

When I was a kid I was obsessed with Peter Pan and the idea of never growing up. At the age of 4, I truly believed that I was Peter Pan, and sought every opportunity to fly off things, including a potential catastrophic balcony incident, which is a story, my mom has retold me on countless occasions. All I needed was some pixie dust. To this day I am still humbled to be in the presence of children, and I admire their fearlessness and innocence. The words Never Grow Up follow me on my journey of life, and they will continue to do so to the end, because to live is an awfully big adventure, and I wish upon a star to make the most of it!

What’s one bucket list item?

I decided a few years ago that before I go I want to help a fallen stranger get back on his feet. My idea sprung out of my experience of studying in Honolulu, Hawaii where I was exposed to a large scale of homeless people for the first time in my life. I took this experience to heart and decided that if I had the resources I would like to turn a person’s life around by concretely giving the person an address, new clothes, and moral support to succeed.

What are you passionate about at SAP?

The possibility to work on HANA SQL. I am an expert on the SQL language and store procedures. I’m also passionate about the many opportunities to participate in the growth of SAP.

What’s your favorite thing about working at SAP?

I work with great people! It’s also nice to be able to work remotely; I love the flexibility.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

I would change the world so there is only one time zone. The entire population would work on one side and sleep on the other side. Additionally, I would facilitate traveling at the speed of light.

What’s something not many people know about you?

I am fluent in three languages–Spanish, French, and English. If you ask me what accent I have, that is more complicated! Now that I have been in the US for so many years, I have an accent in all three languages. C’est la vie!
