Cycling 4 Veterans

On Saturday, October 17, I had the privilege to join over 50 other SAP Silicon Valley Cycling Club riders in the first annual Cycling 4 Veterans ride. The event featured three different rides; a 30 mile route, 55 mile route, and a 115 mile route – I rode the 55 mile route.  The ride took us through the Livermore valley and over the Altamont Pass, where we could see all the turbine windmills up close and personal.

SAP was one of the major sponsors of the ride, and all the money raised goes directly to local veteran charities. It was great to be given the opportunity to join fellow SAP employees to raise money for those that have put their lives in harm’s way to protect our freedoms at.  In addition to the SAP riders, there were over 23 SAP volunteers helping to register riders, serving food, staffing the rest stops, and providing encouragement.

I enjoyed meeting fellow SAP cyclists from all over the San Francisco Bay Area, and participating in this great event for such a wonderful cause.   I look forward to next year’s ride and future cycling events with the SAP SV Cycling Club.
