Earlier today Dr. Bernd Welz, EVP and Head of Scale, Enablement & Transformation took the stage with Elvira Wallis, SVP and Chief Product Owner, Packaged Solutions at the Technology Services World (TSW) 2015 Service Transformations conference in Las Vegas. You've likely already heard plenty about SAP S/4HANA, SAP's next-gen business suite built on the most advanced in-memory platform out there (SAP HANA) with SAP's new modern user experience (SAP Fiori). But just as a refresher: The point of SAP S/4HANA is to enable you to streamline data/business models, optimize daily business transactions, accelerate strategic decision making, and simplify everything in between.

This has all been driven by an increasingly networked, global, and digital economy that is triggering a staggering pace of change. The Internet of Things, Big Data, business networks, and enterprise mobility -- just to name a few -- are key innovation areas that SAP S/4HANA allows you to address head on. That said, reimagining an existing, running business for this digital transformation can seem like a daunting task at first. In a lot of ways, SAP had its own reimagining to do in terms of how our Global Services and Support team could best support and engage with businesses to help them accelerate their SAP S/4HANA implementations. In Bernd's own words:

"We believe in outcome based service and service productization to make innovation adoption simple."

Enter stage right: SAP Activate, SAP's innovation adoption framework for SAP S/4HANA. SAP Activate is a combination of best practices, methodology, and guided configuration to help you implement SAP S/4HANA quickly and effectively. It is designed for IT and business professionals involved in the migration to or configuration, integration, or extension of SAP S/4HANA. And it's built as a single solution or framework for use independent of all the traditional decision points. On-premise? cloud? hybrid? Check, check, check, all covered. Can I use it myself? Is it what SAP Global Services and Support uses? Can Partners use the same approach? Yes, yes, and yes.

SAP Activate works with any existing support offerings from SAP that you may already have in place. And the nice thing about this "single source of truth" approach is that it's available and designed for SAP partners as well. The idea being that SAP partners can combine their specialized industry or line-of-business expertise with the SAP Activate methodology and best practices.

But enough on the highlights, go ahead and take a closer look. We've put together a short paper that walks you through all the options and components included as part of SAP Activate and explains how to get started. Check it out and, as always, your feedback is welcome!
