SAP HANA Cloud Platform is left, right, center, and behind everything today in Las Vegas. Here’s your wrap on Tuesday including executive board member Bernd Leukert’s morning keynote “HCP festival” as well as top tips on what to look for tomorrow.
Things got started really quickly today for HCP at TechEd. At 9am, Bernd took the stage and engaged the packed hall for over an hour, during which It was hard to find anything he highlighted that did NOT have to do with HCP. In stressing the ease of building business apps with services – building and validating across the globe – it was clear how HCP makes it easy for businesses to deliver in the digital economy, globally.

Several services and solutions built on HCP were highlighted and demoed live, including:

For the IoT story which is also all over TechEd, Bernd explained how the Italian railway Trenitalia is equipping locomotives with sensors, permanently monitoring all equipment with in order to run predictive maintenance on trains and their parts. Ian Kimbell, whose live demos were fabulous as usual, simplified the message for us by hooking up IoT Services live and showing us how to monitor wine temperature. HCP: Not just for trains, but also for wine.
The show floor opened at 10am, with HCP teammates on hand at four dedicated pods, as well as in the Build Zone and at Expert Networking Sessions and mini CodeJams.
