Limited Edition #CatchAMentor Mission Badges at #SAPtd

**UPDATE** Due to the popularity of the Catch-A-Mentor mission, we’re making the Catch-A-Mentor and Know-A-Mentor missions available for the whole of 2016! 😆

One of the top reasons why people attend SAP TechEd is to “network” with others SAP users, fellow attendees, experts and SAP Partners. This year, we’re making it fun (and rewarding) for SAP TechEd attendees to network with SAP Mentors, our community’s experts and top influencers.

Are you ready?! There will be 2 missions for you to earn limited edition SCN badges (and points), and an onsite challenge for you to score SAP Store discounts and tickets to the hottest shows in town!

      2. Post the Selfie in this document
      3. (Optional: Tweet out your selfie with #CatchaMentor #SAPtd)

KnowaMentor_final.jpgTo earn this Know a Mentor badge (and 15 more points), you’ll need to:

      2. Post a short blog about what you learned from the SAP Mentor in the SAP TechEd space
      3. Post the link to your blog in this document

Note: Although you’re encouraged to do multiple selfies and blogs, you can only earn 1 of each badge.

[Mentor 5-Star Challenge]

Are you ready for more goodies?!

While you’re introducing yourself to SAP Mentors and becoming BFFs at SAP TechEd, enter the Mentor 5-Star Challenge, to get discounts to SAP Store and win Cirque de Soleil show tickets (Las Vegas) or other major event tickets (Barcelona).

Here what you have to do:

  1. Each time you meet a SAP Mentor, ask them for a sticker to stick onto the back of your business card.
  2. After you’ve received 5 stickers, you can drop your card into a fishbowl at the SAP Mentor Meeting Room (located in the Hang Out zone on the TechEd showfloor).
  3. At the end of each day, go to the following places to attend the drawing:
Las Vegas
Tuesday Oct 20, 5:00 pm, Mentor Meeting Room (2 tickets to  “O” at Bellagio)
Wednesday Oct 21, ~7:30 pm during SAP Mentors Jam Band, Showfloor Hall C (2 tickets to Zarkana at ARIA Resort & Casino)
Thursday Oct 22, 5:00 pm, Mentor Meeting Room (2 tickets to Zumanity at New  York-New York Hotel & Casino)

Wednesday Nov 11, 5:00 pm, Mentor Meeting Room (EMEA Tickets Q1 TBD)
Thursday Nov 12, 5:00 pm, Mentor Meeting Room (EMEA Tickets Q1 TBD)

Bonus: SAP Mentors will also have a voucher code (and QR code) for you to receive 20% discount from the SAP Store.

Tip: The best places to find and meet SAP Mentors is in the SAP Mentors Room (Hang Out area on show floor), or at the SAP Networking Lounges. These are the Mentor Open House hours at the Mentor meeting room:

By the way, any entries that don't get picked goes back into the fish/punch bowl to be included in next day's drawing. This means the sooner you complete and enter the challenge, the better your chances are for winning those Cirque du Soleil tickets. 🙂

Is this like  a "Catch and Release" thing, or do I get to keep the mentor I catch?

Hi Jason, please let me know if I should change the terms & conditions to make sure that attendeas do understand not to kidnap, jump on, hit or take any mentors away from TechEd. It is important that they do stay where they are. It is not allowed to take any mentors as "souvenier" from TechEd. Therefore we have the nice "Stickers" and also we provide tickets for cirque du soleil.

      Thanks, Kati

Surely, if I just LURE them away - let's say with a unicorn, for example - then it is within the terms and conditions?  Of course I'm not even IN Vegas, but if my unicorn runs amok and a herd of mentors follows - then keeping them is only fair.

Last time I was in Vegas I got to keep a mentor's ball cap as a souvenir (Thank you Moya Watson!); surely keeping an actual mentor as a souvenir is the next logical step.  Rumor has it thatMarilyn Pratt hoards them in her basement.

      Hallo,

At SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando, we announced the beginning of open beta. Today, at SAP TechEd Las Vegas, we are announcing that the official transition from SCN to the community's new home will happen on October 10. Read more

I am happy to tell you that we are moving forward with “CatchaMentor” on the new platform. Nevertheless there is a cut on October 3rd which is the LAST date to upload your picture as comment here and to earn the mission.

All new 1DX missions will only be available approximately a month after Go-Live on the new platform. Stay tuned, as I will write a new blog and will announce it.

“KnowaMentor” will be discontinued in the new platform!

      Happy Catching! Cheers, Kati

SAP TechEd Bangalore runs from Oct 5 -7. So we will have no 'CatchaMentor' opportunity in Bangalore?

      Dear Matthias, and all,

      good question!!

So the #catchamentor is year round.

      TWITTER:

You can always upload to twitter.

TECHED RAFFLE: While at TechEd you have a chance to win tickets for cirque de soleil and LiveNation concerts - but only in Las Vegas and Barcelona!

Win tickets with #CatchaMentor at #SAPTechEd

      SCN MISSION:

The SCN missions will be paused due to the technical transfer. Audrey wrote a great blog with a good description. SCN Missions Coming to a Close Here you see that on October 3rd there is a mission shut down and in November the missions will be "revamped". After that date people can upload the pics in the NEW SCN.

I hope this is good explained? 🙂
