ARCHIVED: New Hand’s-On Tutorial Videos for SAP Web IDE
Hi,
ARCHIVED: The video tutorials referenced in this blog have been archived. SAP Web IDE has been superceded by SAP Business Application Studio. See here.
SAP Web IDE has been around for over year now and is maturing and evolving at an amazing pace.
We originally posted video tutorials for the public beta release back in June 2014 so obviously these are now a little dated – however in between SPS releases of SAP HANA we’ve managed to refresh the video series based on version SAP Web IDE 1.15.
One of the main areas of feedback we received for the original videos was that you wanted us to use publicly available back end systems – so you could then follow along yourselves using the free developer trial. So in the new videos we show how to use public OData sources on OData.org as well as use local metadata xml files along with the excellent “Mock Data” capability of SAP Web IDE. We also show how to use SAP Web IDE along with SAP HANA.

We hope these help you get started with SAP Web IDE – or maybe discover something new if you’re already familiar with a SAP Web IDE.
Please watch this space as more videos are planned for the near future – especially once SAP Web IDE 1.16 is released!
Philip

Hi Philip,
Loving the tutorials BUT 🙂 I cannot get mock data to show in the case where either 1] Just the metadata file (SalesOrders) has been created or
2} I have used the editor and generated mock data in a json file.
I can see the json file just fine.
In either case when I select run with mock data for the index.html file I still get the " Requested resource was not found" display.
Is there some setting that I need to set somewhere as I have been over the tutorial several times and this problem persists.
Hi Ross,
Thanks for the nice feedback and apologies for the delay in replying. As true cloud solution SAP Web IDE is regularly updated and many options have evolved since these videos were created. Can you let me know exactly which video you're referring to and I'll try to help further.
Thanks,
Philip
