Part 2: A sneak preview on TechEd Preconference “Tame Big-Process Challenges with Intelligent Business Operations, Powered by SAP HANA”
In my previous blog the overall agenda for the entire preconference hands on workshop was shared. Today we focus on the topics to be covered as part of the Foundation module. The foundation module will focus on the following
S.NO | Exercise Goal | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | HANA Studio Warm Up |
Enable beginners or first time HANA Studio users to familiarize with
|
2 | As a Solution Expert experience developing a Business Scenario Project to gain visibility on Inquire to Order process |
|
3 | As a Process Owner/Operator experience the solution (created in previous chapter) covering visibility on BPM process in Space.ME work space |
|
4 | As a Solution Expert enhance your business scenario to cover additional visibility over Order Management Third Party System |
|
5 | As a Process Owner/Operator experience the solution (created in previous chapter) with enhanced visibility covering 3rd party Observed process in work space |
|
The idea behind the foundation module is to enable you as a Solution Expert start designing a smart process application which creates end to end visibility over processes typically running in disparate systems(as shown in below image)
As you observe above, the process is a mixture of human activities and service activities driven by different process technologies( SAP BPM, Third Party transaction system). The Business Scenario acts as a central fabric observing the events raised from these two processes. The business scenario uses this event information along with the process context to calculate the other visibility patterns configured by the Solution Expert.
The Business Scenario run-time uses a high performance algorithm to correlate the events raised by the two disparate processes using a correlation condition defined by the Solution Expert. These correlation conditions are used to chain the events from the two different process instances together under a single traceable scenario instance.
At the end of the foundation module you would have learnt to iterate in small increments the creation and enhancement of a business scenario project.
