This blog explains how you can use your HCP Trial Instance with SAP Document Center (formerly known as SAP Mobile Documents) enabled for easy file sharing.

Prerequisite

HCP Trial Account with activated Mobile Documents Service

Once you have set up your personal HCP Mobile Documents Trial, you can upload files into your My Documents area using drag&drop.

Now you would like to share them with others.

This is how you do it:

Enable Sharing

To use the ready-to-use file sharing capabilities of SAP Mobile Documents, you need to enable sharing in the Admin UI:

In the HANA Cloud Cockpit - Services -  Mobile Documents area

Go to Service Configuration --> Configure Mobile Documents

In the SAP Mobile Documents Admin UI, go to SETTINGS --> Shared Documents

Check Allow Sharing

Set the other parameters for sharing according to your preference.

Click Save

When you now log back on to the end user Web UI of SAP Mobile Documents, you will see that the Shared tab appeared.

Share your files

To share files, just select them and click Copy to Share or Move to Share depending on your scenario.

Click Create Share

Enter a name for the share.

Select the option Anyone with the link has access.

You can set an expiration date or password protection. Enable the option Write Permission if you want the recipient to also be able to upload or delete files.

Do not select the option Share with Membersi for now. This is described in the blog Collaborate with colleagues.

Click Save.

Copy the URL and provide it to the recipient. Alternatively click Send Mail with Link to Share.

Using this URL, the recipient can access the files (if he has the password, that you might have set for the share) ...

... and preview the pictures:
