Special Celebration of the 20th SAP Academic Conference EMEA

Evening Event at the Heidelberg Palace

Again this year we would like to thank Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel, HPI and Dr.-Ing. Juergen Mueller, Head of SAP Innovation Center Network for teaming up with us and showcasing opportunities for faculty to engage with their programs and resources including openHPI, Future SOC Lab, and the SAP Innovation Center Network. And we look very much forward to next year where we will have the 21st SAP Academic Conference EMEA in Potsdam where we will have the event in collaboration with HPI, SAP Innovation Center Potsdam, and University of Potsdam.

Key Event Highlights:

Through workshops, breakouts sessions, and expert topic tables, faculty learned about the latest SAP University Alliances offerings and partnerships including a spotlight on SAP Learning Hub – Academic Edition, which offers a blended learning hub with access to nearly 1,000 learning assets from three areas – curriculum from SAP University Alliances, courses and eCertifications from SAP Learning Hub – Student Edition, and openSAP courses. openSAP includes the recently launched openSAP thought leaders series, delivering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) by academic and business thought leaders to prepare businesses for their digital transformation.

Faculty also learned about opportunities for their students to leverage the Academy Cube, a global initiative to strengthen tomorrow’s workforce, open the door to new opportunities in the international labor market for motivated talents, and provide a lifelong skills and career development community.

We also were pleased to team up with DSAG and Hewlett Packard who were some of the key sponsors of the event.

The event also had a dedicated focus on the importance on building the next generation designers. Thanks to Sam Yen now have a solid offering of Design Thinking courses including the new open source, collaborative design tool, BUILD. There were also highlights around the d-shop and engaging activities such as DataGenius, EU Code Week, SAP InnoJams and hackathons which faculty can bring into their teaching, as well as the Initiative for Digital Transformation.

We also teamed up with SAP’s Corporate Strategy team to showcase the opportunity for faculties to contribute to the “Emerging Technologies and Disruption Whitepaper,” and we collaborated with SAP’s Future of Work team to showcase how faculty can contribute to a SAP whitepaper on “The Company of the Future – a global student perspective.”

For more details, please see our event site, the attached flyers for additional details, as well as the SAP Corporate Portal story. And explore the online photo album for additional impressions from the event.

Additionally, the SAP University Alliances team including members of our network were very active on social media throughout the event at #UAAC2015. There were more than 2,500 posts and more than 2 million impressions.

Special thanks to Gerd Oswald and Bernd Welz for being the overall SAP executive sponsors for the event, including all our keynote speakers, partners, and the SAP University Alliances team for making this a very memorable event.
