The SAP Enterprise Support Academy program has released new expert-guided implementations (EGI) for SAP Solution Manager.
EGIs are workshop-style, multiday remote sessions with experienced SAP service engineers, enabling you to implement customizing settings and execute complex activities in your own system landscape. The EGI methodology closes the gap between classroom training and consulting with the goal to execute all relevant steps that are necessary to complete a defined activity during the delivery time of the event.
Change Control Management IV: Advanced Change Request Management
Change Request Management coordinates all changes in a software landscape, to ensure that changes do not conflict with each other. It also ensures that changes are made without disrupting the ongoing business. This results in improved quality of the software landscape, higher availability of IT solutions, and lower total cost of ownership. Change Request Management ensures that the performed changes remain transparent and traceable.
This four day EGI continues “Change Control Management III: Change Request Management” and explains advanced functionalities for an existing Change Request Management proof-of-concept configuration. It enables you to manage your SAP Solution Manager projects more flexible.
SAP IT Infrastructure Management
SAP IT Infrastructure Management is a solution for acquiring and administrating all IT components in an infrastructure including PCs, printers, servers, routers and so on. Considerable advantages of this management solution include the collection of the infrastructure data of all components within an IT landscape and being able to perform comprehensive monitoring without needing to install any agents.
This five day EGI presents the opportunities to structure and collect the infrastructure items with different data sources.

Management Dashboards: Getting Started and Beyond
Reporting on the collected measurement data for monitored KPI is an essential element of the continual improvement process. Management dashboards in SAP Solution Manager enable IT managers to drive value from the data available about their solution in SAP Solution Manager, and give them better control over IT.
With version 7.1, SAP Solution Manager offers a dashboard framework that allows IT managers to tailor the dashboards they need for their daily work. This three day EGI provides insight into the framework and standard deliverables of SAP. Additionally, you will learn how to build your own management dashboard apps. The instructor demonstrates the development step-by-step and attendees can reproduce this in their own system.
Guided Procedures with SAP Solution Manager
For the day-to-day activities and tasks during the operations phase, SAP Solution Manager offers the so-called Guided Procedures Framework for the implementation, execution, management and reporting on standard operation procedures. This two day EGI will introduce this framework. During the event, you will learn how to use existing (SAP-delivered) guided procedures, but also how to create your own guided procedures, how to schedule and delegate the execution of guided procedures for regular administrative tasks, how to resolve alerts from the Alert Inbox using specific guided procedures, and how to get an overview over the execution status of guided procedures. Furthermore, the configuration of the IT Task Management scenario will be demonstrated.
