Hi,

As part of our continuous attempts to improve customer support quality and the ability to self-service, we have now created a new visual, flow oriented page for our PowerBuilder customers which helps to easily navigate through the license type selection, generation and troubleshooting during PowerBuilder validation.

This interactive Decision Tree provides a transparent flow about the license selection which in turn is linked to related KBA’s/references, there by helping the customers resolve themselves within no time.

Here is the link for the Decision Tree. Link

Please use the comment section below if you have any questions or any ideas for improvement.

Thank you.

In the box on the left-hand side (following the path down from Generate Unserved License with valid Host ID and HostName):  the text of step #3 is confusing.  It says “Select Standalone Seat – Local Served”.  But you’re in the flow path for generating a local UNserved license file…

    Hi Kaushik,

Many customers are frustrated with SySAM, so thank you for investing the time to make this diagram.

Also, I would like SAP customers to know that future versions of PowerBuilder released by Appeon will no longer use SySAM.  We are in process of building a modern licensing mechanism from the ground up.  Going forward, using PowerBuilder will be as simple as logging into your email.

For those of you interested to learn more about how licensing will work in the future please signup for the next Appeon Webinar http://www.appeon.com/pbfuture  We will email you the date/time when the Webinar is scheduled.

    Regards,

    Armeen Mazda
