We had an amazing time with some awesome kids who had come to visit us on 5 September which coincidentally was Teachers Day. This by no measure was a regular line up of sessions, naturally given the young age group we were addressing. So we thought of taking the excitement through the roof for the 100 students and the 3 teachers.

Srikanth Gopalakrishnan, VP of Product Management and Internet of things took the students through the bulk of the sessions through his amazingly easygoing and relaxed narration titled "The Age of the Digital Enterprise". The team comprising of Srikanth, Viswanadh Akella and Manu DK showed some amazing things that we at SAP do such as the work around Internet of Things and drones. Well we actually flew one for the kids! We ventured in to the possibilities of SAP Predictive maintenance and how SAP systems are well in place for when the drones take over!

We touched upon the the immense computing power of technologies such as SAP HANA and SAP HANA Cloud Platform and how we partnered with McLaren to give them their analytics solution to manage in-race scenarios via the iPad app.

Google Glass and managing work flow was demoed by Viswa and how the future of work powered by SAP and such gadgets are going to influence as multipliers in the future.

Topics such as connected cars (Internet of Things), Analytics (demo of the solution provided to Cricket/ sports/ IPL team KolKata Knightriders) with so many videos made the sessions so exciting!

We rolled out the Data Genius IV contest to these students and we hope many of them would participate and finally took the kids around the campus. It was tough to have taken all 100 in one go so we split ourselves into 3 batches touring through the d-shop where we saw all kinds of gadgets such as Arduinos, 3d printer, Microsoft Surface, Raspberry Pi... Then the Co-innovation lab and all its gadgetry, Design Thinking rooms, the newly built AppHaus, Hasso Plattner Thought Space, and our bio waste management facility!
