Try https://account.hanatrial.ondemand.com/cockpit
Thanks, I am able to access..Seems it was antivirus update which was required.
Hello,
I followed the openSAP training on SAP Fiori and found them great, congratulations !
I have one question.
I understood odata is used to model and get the data from the backend and EDM is the way to do it in the backend.
Is it possible to re-use ABAP SOAP Web Services developed previously and encapsulate them automatically in EDM objects or you have to re_write them ?
Thanks,
Luc
Hello Luc,
I'm familiar with the option of RFC calls to the ABAP backend via cloud connector.
See the link below for more details.
https://help.hana.ondemand.com/help/frameset.htm?04acd29726494b86b05ba0d60984ae6f.html
With regards to web services calls, I need to explore that area and will come back soon with an answer.
Regards,
Eliel.
Hi Eliel,
Thanks, I feel you got my question 🙂
The "old classical" ABAP WS have not been developed on SAP HANA but on a "classical" SAP WAS ABAP through the ABAP WS Wizard from a RFC Function Module.
I can wait, no worries.
Regards,
Luc
Hello,
I'm pleased to have completed the Challenge.
find below my post about two apps that can leverage User Experience for HCM.
SAP HANA Cloud Portal Developer Challenge: Tailored apps for HCM
Hello,
I wanted to create a new OData Service in the SAP NW Gateway SAPES1 which is an open SAP Demo System but when I want to create a project in the SEGW, the system tells me that "I'm not authorized". How to request the authorization ?
Thanks,
Luc
Hi Luc!
Eliel will answer you soon, he is on a workshop at the moment.
Thanks
Vera
Hi Luc,
As far as we know it is not possible.
ES1 is a demo system that is not open for development.
Regards,
Michal.
Hi Michal,
I understand and it is what I read after...
In this case for the Developper Challenge which SAP ECC and SAP NW GW system can we use ?
Thanks and regards,
Luc
Hello Luc,
if you accept my advice you could use the local data based on JSON format to display the data in your application, it works very well and highly recommended for prototyping FIORI apps.
Thanks
Hello Marcos,
Thanks, I understand and I agree you as it is what i'm doing now, using json and mock data but I wanted to go a bit further and not only doing a "fake" application for the SAP Challenge !
Cheers,
Luc
Hi,
SAP last year organized a challenge related to SAP Enterprise Portal, it will be repeated this year or there will be only one related to the cloud portal?
Thanks a lot!
Nicola
Hi Nicola!
There will be no challenge this year for Enterprise Portal. AT least nothing is planned until now. We will have the Cloud Portal challenge running until September this year.
Regards
Vera
Hi,
For some days now I cannot register my Fiori App in SAP Web IDE.
After deploying it on my HCP Trial from SAP Web IDE, I select the option "Register to SAP Fiori Launchpad" and on the page, when I put the infos, the "Next" button is gray and I cannot press it.
One week before, it was working and I could register my app and see it in my FLP.
Is there something new ?
Thanks,
Luc
There is a small bug there currently where you need to perform some change in the application name first in order for the Next button to become enabled. Please try it. It will be fixed in our next version.
Regards,
Michal.
Hi Michal,
Thanks it was working !
I should have think about that 🙂
Luc
Hi we have completed the challenge.

Hi Vera,
I had posted my blog yesterday, but it is still pending moderator approval. Can you please clarify whether it will be eligible for an entry into this competition?
Regards,
Karan
Hi Vera Gutbrod
I have published my blog but its pending for moderator's approval.
Will my blog be considered for the challenge after it has been approved?
Regards
Kanika
Hello Vera,
Check the below blog
SAP HANA Cloud Portal Developer Challenge: Building HCP App to fetch Accounts from C4C
Regards,
Chandan
Hello,
One of the two applications which were developed and deployed on HCP Trial for the SAP Challenge is become blue empty page...
I can see my code but even if I redeply the application it is still a blue empty page.
What is wrong ?
Thanks for any help,
Luc
Hello again,
I investigated during the WE and was able to correct it on my SAP Web IDE by changing in the index.html
src="resources/sap-ui-core.js" to
src="https://sapui5.netweaver.ondemand.com/resources/sap-ui-core.js"
It means the library was no more good.
But when I deploy my application it is still not working...
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Luc
Hi Luc!
I will check with our developers.
Best regards
Vera
Hi Vera,
Thanks !
I continued to investigate and now it seems it is because of the mock data...
Did your developers changed something in the way the mock data are managed and displayed ?
Here is my code in the page.
Luc
var bRunWithMock = true;
var sRunWithMock = jQuery.sap.getUriParameters().get('run-with-mock');
if (sRunWithMock === 'false') {
bRunWithMock = false;
}
if (bRunWithMock) {
jQuery.sap.require('sap.ui.core.util.MockServer');
var uri = '/';
var oMock = new sap.ui.core.util.MockServer({rootUri : uri});
oMock.simulate('model/metadata.xml', { sMockdataBaseUrl : 'model/', bGenerateMissingMockData : true });
oMock.start();
jQuery(document).ready(function($) { sap.m.MessageToast.show('Running in demo mode with mock data.', { duration : 4000 });
});
}
Hi Luc,
Working with Mock Server is not yet supported by Cloud FLP as it conflicts with its navigation. It will be supported in our upcoming release (11B)
In the meantime, avoid using Mock Server in your application when registering a tile.
Thanks,
Meni
Hi Meni,
Thanks for the answer. I unserstand !
What is strange for is that the app was working fine until mid of October at least but it is true we were not using it really in the FLP, more as a direct access. Perhaps this is wrong.
Luc
Hi Vera,
When will the results be announced?
Regards,
Karan
Hi Karan!
I hope this week, our UI designer is just creating the awards. But I can already tell you that you are among the 3 contributions getting an award.
Best regards
Vera
Hi Vera,
What are the additional awards?
Thanks,
Nithyanandam
Hi Nithyanandam!
You will receive a finalist award, also Karan Bahl. And Luc will get the winner award. It is again the same type of certificate you already got as participant: but this time it is a finalist certificate.
Best regards
Vera
Hi vera,
Thanks for the response what about SCN badges and how much point we will get?
Thanks
Nithyanandam
Hi Nithyanandam!
SCN badges and points were not part of the challenge. The creation of missions and badges takes time and is a service of the SCN team. The SCN team did not start new challenges last year (including the creation of missions and badges), because they were (and are) very busy to move the SCN community to the new experience of 1DX platform.
Therefore we decided in our team to run our own challenge with our own awards. I hope this is ok.
Best regards
Vera
Congratulations to three winners. 🙂
Cheers,
Chandan
Dear Vera,
