What’s special about your workspace and how have you personalized it? Are you surrounded by a special collection? Is your office located in an amazing neighborhood in your city? Do you have a really great view from your window? Do you have an awesome relaxation room or interior design? However you work, we want to see it and know what personal touch you’ve added to help you get through your day!
First up, we sat down with Gabriela "Gabi" Kuklová, in the Order-to-Invoice Software & Maintenance team at SAP's Global Finance Shared Services Center in Prague, Czech Republic.
1. So Gabi, how have you personalized your workspace?
I’ve decorated my workspace with pictures of my family, which includes my two daughters Adela (5) and Kristyna (7), and some nice flowers in flowerpots.
2. What music do you listen to while you’re at work?
Although I can, I tend not listen any music at work – it disturbs my concentration!
3. What thing(s) on your desk could you not live without?
My flowers and my pictures of my family because they bring joy to my day, my calendar because it helps me organize my life, and hand cream because I love moisturizing my hands!
4. What’s the coolest thing about your office?
We actually have a gym for SAP employees under our building and we have various rest areas with sofas.
5. What’s special about the city you’re working in?
Prague is my city; Prague is wonderful simply for itself, but also especially for its historical center, its parks, its theatres, and so on. I have my whole family here and I live in a very nice new block of flats with a nice garden close to the school, Kindergarten, and office so it’s the perfect place to live. I can even walk from home to the office in a few minutes!
6. What’s your work/life balance like? Describe some hobbies you have.
My family is my biggest hobby. We enjoy our time together by going to restaurants, to the cinema, and very often, when the weather is good, we take trips out of Prague. During the summer, we spend a lot of time at our cottage on the Sázava River, here in the Czech Republic. I also enjoy sports, but because of my children, I don’t go to the gym, so I have a gym machine at home.
7. What do you and your colleagues do for fun?
We always go for lunch together and sometimes we will even go to restaurants or to the cinema in the evening.
