Arauco Improves Sales Planning Cycle With SAP

In order to reduce the planning cycle required for the potential demand for market sales, Arauco, a leading pulp and forestry producer in Chile, implemented the SAP Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) solution, powered by SAP HANA, which allows dynamic fluctuations that quickly
translate customer demand into viable business plans for logistics, manufacturing and procurement. “We are a production company, with more
than 4,000 customers. We handle many products and we have a complex supply chain. To improve our forecast process, which is responsible for determining the mix of products that will meet the needs of the market, we decided to implement a solution to do it faster and in a more reliable manner, “said Diego de la Maza, Planning Manager for lumber and panels at Arauco. He specified that before implementing SAP S&OP, their forecast depended on Excel software which was a time-consuming manual process. Today, however, the same process is performed automatically with less effort and no data inconsistencies.
