As part of this newly launched blog success stories series, we'll focus on an individual recognized for his/her outstanding performance in EMEA Early Talent. In this posting, we'll introduce you to Early Talent Ambassador of the Year Winner Erwil Heath, Head of Business Operations - Africa.

“Small wins = Big Change and a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Take the leap, jump in and enjoy the journey of taking SAP to the Cloud and Beyond.”

When did you join SAP?

I joined SAP in February 2009 and that has made all the difference.

What did SAP offer that drew you to the company?

The best run companies run SAP, but working for SAP makes the world run better. SAP offers everything that an aspiring graduate could ever ask for. SAP offers a career, a journey where you have the freedom to explore multiple paths. SAP has options, offering great opportunities to those who are determined enough to push themselves to the limit and explore the dynamic world of SAP.

What was your experience before joining SAP?

I was born into SAP. My journey started when I met Ernie Els (Pro golfer/SAP ambassador) when I was 8 years old. My journey continued and I started working for SAP as a graduate in Marketing. I started to explore dynamic roles in the business to gain a better understanding of  how we operate.

What were some of the biggest successes for you so far at SAP?

Being awarded the EMEA Early Talent Ambassador of the year award and receiving the award from Bill McDermott. Also recently moving into East Africa and currently working in Sydney helping the business become a Best Run Business with the implementation of the Franchise model. This has been both exhilarating and rewarding.

What is your vision for your future at SAP based on your successes so far?

If you asked me  five years ago where I would be in five years’ time, I definitely would not have been able to describe the opportunities and experiences that I have encountered to date. I strongly feel that as long you enjoy what you do and add value at every touch point of your daily interactions the journey will reveal itself. The journey is the reward, and remember… keep it simple.
