  • Expert users can create and edit rule services directly in the web app. The rule service editor also allows users to configure the attributes and parameters of rule services:

  • Expert users can configure the basic settings of the rule framework. This includes setting the time zone and also references to SAP HANA packages that store all rules and rule services.

Rules Expression Language – new features:

  • Structured condition – this is a set of sub-conditions that compose together one condition. Structured Conditions are useful for complex or long conditions that are constructed from many sub-conditions joined by ‘and’/’or’ and therefore are not so readable. Here is a sample of structured condition:

all of the following conditions are true:

      • gender of the customer is equal to ‘m’
      • first_name of the customer starts with ‘J’
      • last_name of the customer does not contain ‘Gold

  • More natural handling of “all” – in previous version if you wanted to calculate in a condition the age of all customers, you had to write the next (awkward) condition:

average of all age of customer is greater than 18

Now you can write in much more natural way:

average of age of all customers is greater than 18

  • More natural handling of negation of Boolean attributes  – in previous version if you wanted to negate a Boolean attribute, you had to write the next (cumbersome) condition:

customer is married is equal to false

        or this condition:

customer is married is not equal to true

Now you can write in much more natural way:

    customer is not married

Performance Improvements:

  • As in the previous releases we have invested a lot of effort in making our generated queries more performance optimized.
  • All the components downloaded to the client side (i.e. views, controls, parser, plug-in) are compressed.
