Comparing BW ETL Process

This is my first post, and I’d like to share some experiments that I studied to development a business scenario but it is not a lab scenario.

We are building a business scenario for planning and wehave to loaddata from SAP ECC 6.0 to compose the analyses, in this case we using the Data Source 0PU_IS_PS_32.

The image belowshows part of the scenario. In this case we usingaDSO object like a Propagation Layer that receivedall data from Data Source.

The comparison istwo scenarios to load data:

· Using DTP with HANA Execution: in this case is mandatoryuse an InfoPackage, because we needa PSA to activate that configuration.
· Using DTP with direct extration: in this case HANA Executionis disable and we don’thave PSA.

This is the job in SourceSystem – SAP ECC – when we used InfoPackage with PSA.

This is the monitor of DTP loading data using HANA Execution and PSA.

Process Chain Start time: 09:42:55

Process Chain Finish time: 10:00:35

Process Chain execution time: 00:17:40

Now I changed the configurations to load data from DTP, but the option to HANA Execution is unavaliable. The filters is the same of InfoPackage above.
