A wide customer base

The company’s main client base spans municipal organizations, first responders, emergency services, companies in the energy and utilities industry, and professional services.

Municipalities utilize Convergent IS’s services to aid the process for reviewing and renewing purchases. With the solutions and services provided by Convergent IS, municipalities can simplify and ease the process around reviewing their entire purchasing and supply chain including inventory management.

For one drilling company, Convergent IS helped to transform a legacy SAP system into a clean, modern, mobile solution.

Rapid growth

Convergent IS has grown its business by 200% in the last year.  The company expanded into new countries and multiple currencies, and in turn, has increased its supply chain quite a bit.  In addition, now Convergent IS offers its customers a new professional services component.

As expected with such extreme expansion, the business has grown increasingly complex, especially considering the new risk associated with taking on foreign exchange. Convergent IS needed a solution to help keep itself true to its mission statement and remain an innovative and effective business.

These solutions provided Convergent IS with a secure environment for remote work via mobile device as well as successful management of its complex financial currency and foreign exchange risk.

The SAP Simple Finance solution is completely scalable and is built upon a solid foundation that integrates and centralizes all needed functions. Now there’s no reconciliation between financial and management accounting.  It’s all weaved together in one centralized location.

To support critical business processes like financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement, cash-flow and liquidity management as well as employee/manager self-service, Convergent IS utilized the SAP Fiori user experience. The cost of training a rapidly growing team is enormous, but with its new solutions, the company can manage its employee training budget carefully while providing new team members with tools that are easy to use.

Immediate benefits

Now the Convergent IS Sales team has insight into account and project-specific net margins; they can view business assets in real time to improve investment decisions. Since implementing SAP Simple Finance and SAP Fiori user experience, the team has decreased days sales outstanding, improved management of accounts payable, and eliminated manual reconciliation of financial and management accounting.

Looking forward

In the future, Convergent IS hopes to introduce additional SAP S/4HANA functionality to help manage its complex supply chain.  In addition the company is investing in SAP solutions to streamline the onboarding experience for new teammates worldwide.

The team is confident that, moving forward, it will be able to effectively introduce the capability to close and monitor the close of each month very simply.  Even better, once month-end close is complete, generating and reviewing financial statements will be as simple as pushing a button from an iPad with the Fiori user experience.
