In late July 2015 / early August we will be running a series of 75 contests at centres all over the UK to try and inspire young people to become interested in the power of both Hana and all things Cloud. The contest – run by the Young Rewired State – sponsored by SAP and brought together by me and my awesome intern will provide a student edition of Hana Cloud Platform to kids aged 9-18 across the UK enabling them to build apps, generate app ideas and in some cases maybe even generate an idea that is sophisticated enough to catch the eye of our Startup Focus team.

A number of SAP employees – currently ten – have signed up to act as mentors during the week that the contest runs and an amazing intern at SAP named Plamena Yonkova, originally from Bulgaria, has been working with me on producing some wonderful videos giving insight into the basics of how to get started using Hana Cloud Platform. These include videos on REST, IDE, using Twitter, and building an app in 10 minutes.

By all means check out the videos – they can be found here:

And the best of luck to all the young people who will be taking part in the contest – if previous years are anything to go by they will produce something amazing!

All the best
