DATA Replication Methods For HANA.
If we need to Migrate our existing SAP system to HANA, we have two ways to migrate SAP data into HANA.
They are
A).HANA migration
For HANA migration We need to shift our environment entirely into HANA, because of this the developer also need to change their environment completely into HANA.
B).DATA replication From existing SAP system to HANA.
One simple way to migrate Data is, by using DATA replication from existing SAP system to HANA.
For this we have three types of replication process,
They are,
1.SAP LT Replication method
2.ETL tool(BODS) method
3.Direct Extractor connection method
SAP LT Replication method :
I have taken below screen shots from SAP LT installation guide.
We have two option for installing SLT for ABAP systems.
Option A:
Option B:
Prerequisites:
1.SAP LT Replication Server is shipped in an add-on call DMIS_*. You must install the add-on in your ABAP
source system, and in the SAP LT Replication Server system
Which DMIS component do I need to install in the ABAP source system?
Before Installation of ADD-On need check SPAM/SAINT tool version, Kernel Version and SAP license.
For installation Add-on we need a user in 000 client like DDIC.
2. After installation of DMIS_* we need to check Kernel version using Snote 1597627.
3.Need to install HANA client in SLT and ABAP source systems servers.
4.Create RFC from ABAP to SLT server if SLT is installed in separate server.(otherwise create self RFC SLT)
5.We need to maintain HANA DB details in TX:DBCO and save.
6.Need to open Telnet Connection from ABAP and HANA.
7.Need at least 10-15 Background jobs for SAP LT Server.
8.Need to run a report in SE38 : ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION
Supported DB versions:
Multi System Support:
Migration/Lifecycle Management from DEV/QA/Production:
For this we will use only One SLT server in separate BOX and will configure with DEV/QA/PRD.
Activation of Webdynpro and Relevant Services
After the installation of SAP LT Replication Server, all required Webdynpro SAP LT Replication Server services
are initially disabled. You must enable these services in order to run the SAP LT Replication Server user
interface.
To activate the SAP LT Replication Server services, proceed as follows:
1. Activate Webdynpro services as described here: Active Services in SICF
2. Run transaction SICF.
3. In the Hierarchy Type field, enter SERVICE, and choose Run.
4. Expand the node default_host, and navigate to sap → bc → webdynpro → sap
5. Activate the following services:
iuuc_replication_config
iuuc_repl_mon_powl
iuuc_helpcenter
iuuc_helpcenter_document
iuuc_repl_wdc_config_gaf
iuuc_repl_mon_schema_oif
/sap/public/bc
/sap/public/bc/ur
/sap/public/mysso/cntl
/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/iuuc_repl_mon_schema_oif
/sap/public/bc/icons
/sap/public/bc/icons_rtl
/sap/public/bc/webicons
/sap/public/bc/pictograms
/sap/public/bc/webdynpro
/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/adobeChallenge
/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/mimes
/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/ssr
/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/ViewDesigner
Accessing the Configuration and Monitoring Dashboard (LTRC/LTR):
You use the Configuration and Monitoring Dashboard to create configurations, and to view status information for the replication.
You can access the Configuration and Monitoring Dashboard by using transaction LTR.
Note:
In order to ensure compliance with security standards, we recommend that you do not use a web browser for
accessing Web Dynpro applications. If you use the Configuration and Monitoring Dashboard (transaction LTR),
we recommend using the SAP NetWeaver Business Client. Alternatively, you can use the SAP LT Replication
Server Cockpit (transaction LTRC) in order to work with configurations.
To create a configuration, run transaction LTR, and choose the New pushbutton. Optionally, you can create a
new configuration using the LT Replication Server Cockpit (transaction LTRC) Overview Screen.
Activating and configuring Provisioning settings:
For the SAP HANA system:
1.In order to create a configuration, the user SYSTEM is required, or a user with similar authorizations with at
least the authorizations for creating a HANA DB schema is required.
2.While creating a configuration, a replication user (with name equal to the schema name) is generated
automatically.
3.The following authorizations are granted to the schema-specific roles for the replication user for the created
database schema:
a)<SCHEMA>_DATA_PROV
b)<SCHEMA>_POWER_USER
c)<SCHEMA>_USER_ADMIN
d)<SCHEMA>_DATASELECT)
For ABAP system or SLT system :
We need required roles for SLT user, please check below roles for SLT user,
a) SAP_IUUC_REPL_ADMIN
b) SAP_IUUC_REPL_DISPLAY
c) SAP_IUUC_REPL_REMOTE
Now we need to create a DB connection in TX: LTR or LTRC
Give details with Authorization Group and click next:
Review and click on create configuration:
After configuration of SLT need to monitor and data replicate from TX: LTRC
For Table replication need click on Data Provisioning from table overview tab see below screen.
Give table name and lick start replication, it will start replication. We can Stop,Suspend and Resume everything
we do here.
We can check from HANA studio also from DATA Provisioning
We can control DATA replication from here also.
2. Data replication Using BODS:
Prerequisites:
a).Need to install HANA client in BODS server.
b).Need to install BOBJ or IPS for CMC administration.
c).Need to add Environment variable for HANA client(HDBCLIENT).
BODS installation:
Give CMS details for BODS:
Select Database HANA because we are using for HANA :
Select JDBC driver from HANA client installation directory for HANA connection:
Give HANA system details because we are using for HANA:
Click next for finishing BODS installation:
Establish connection between SAP Data services and ECC:
1.In BODS server Go to“C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\admin\R3_Functions\transport” in this path we have tranport files ,it can take from here then you can import in ECC system.
2.We have one default in TCP/IP RFC SAPDS it should be work, for this we need to register this program id in BODS Management console, open and log in
Click on Administrator,
Go to SAP connection and click add,
Give Program ID of SAPDS RFC and ECC server details and click apply,
Once done, check RFC server interface status and start. Check SAPDS RFC(TCP/IP) in SAP system.
After this Logon in SAP DATA Services Designer like below
Once log in We need to DATA store for HANA and ECC system,
Click on Advanced to Give SAP system details,
Give below details,
Open your data store and select Repository metadata,
From here we need to transfer table data from ECC or BW to HANA.
HANA Connection for BODS:
Creating a DATA store like ECC only, but we need to select DATA store type is Database and give HANA DB details here,
Give Hana server details and apply:
DATA transfer from HANA to BODS :
Once created Data store open tables in Datastore and click on import for data replicate from HANA to BODS like below screen,
3.Direct Extractor connection method:
Use below link for DXC method for DATA transfer from SAP system to HANA,
SAP HANA EIM (Smart data integration) also offers a natively embedded technology in the HANA platform to replicate data from various data source like MS SQL Server, IBM DB/2, Oracle (Hana Smart Data Integration - Realtime Table Replication) and recently with SPS10 also from Sybase ASE, Teradata and SAP HANA sources.

Hi Niels,
Thank You for your response.
I have gone through that link before i have posted.
But i did not get any replication method in that link, they explain how to replicate Twitter posts using IDE.
I have idea about how to replicate Hadoop data using Smart Data integration.I will update the method.
Thanks
Jana
We have posted a whole bunch of short videos on SPA HANA EIM on YouTube. One of the videos is on SAP HANA Academy - Smart Data Integration/Quality : Twitter Replication Pt 2 of 3 [SPS09] - YouTube
