Introduced by corporate CSR colleague, UA China has aligned with 4Entrepreneurship, a joint initiative of the four Entrepreneurship Centers of the Munich Universities, to planning Global Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS) in Shanghai starting from 2016.
The vision of the Global Entrepreneurship Summer School is based on the claim „Billion Dollar Projects to Foster Societal Change“. The event is designed to encourage and connect outstanding students from all over the world to challenge society’s problems by entrepreneurial means. It helps the students to think big and contribute to sustainable change in the dimension of billion. The Global Entrepreneurship Summer School is a collaborative project of the four leading university-based Entrepreneurship Centers in Munich as well as the Social Entrepreneurship Academie – that’s why we believe in the power of entrepreneurial thinking for a better sustainable future.During the Summer School the student teams develop ideas that have both a sustainable impact for society and a self-sustaining, profitable business model. The students learn about entrepreneurship, develop their own sustainable business ideas and build a long-lasting network of international excellent and entrepreneurial students. The Global Entrepreneurship Summer Schools fosters the important role of education, entrepreneurship and networking for a sustainable development.
To ensure a wonderful launch in China after continuous success in Germany since 2008, Oliver Beckmann, the project leader came to Shanghai to identify potential local partner of GESS. On July 6th, Oliver together with Benny Sun from SAP UA visited the Venture Valley and Sino-finnish Centre in Tongji University. Professor HAN Zheng and administrator staffs host the meeting in the valley. Both parties shared the vision and experience on how to collaborate with partners to foster entrepreneurship education and show the interests in co-working on the GESS in the long run.
