16.5 SP05 PL02 is now available! An official post from the PDNN (PowerDesigner News Network)

Hey there PD users!

Happy Canada Day!   And what better way to celebrate it then to download the latest release of PD!  Actually, I hope if you are in Canada you have today off and aren’t reading this until July 2nd.  And if you’re in the US and read this on July 4th, Happy Independence Day!

Now that we’ve got the holiday formalities out of the way, it’s on to business!  As the title states, 16.5 SP05 PL02 is now available to download on  You’ll find it under the Support Packages and Patches.  As always, there is a 32bit and 64bit version so make sure to download the one that matches the version you are using.   And in case you’re still on an old version of 16.5 (SP02, SP03, or SP04), you’ll need to download and install the 16.5 SP05 update before applying the 16.5 SP05 PL02 patch.

Included in the zip file will be three files, the Installer (.msi), the Portal(PDWeb) and the Proxy.   If you are using the Proxy Server, you will need to install this in order to connect to your repository after upgrading client.  If you are using the Portal(PDWeb), please upgrade this as well.

You might be asking yourself, “Why should I upgrade to the latest release?”  One reason would be the 50 CRs that were fixed in this release.  That’s right, I’ll type it again so you don’t think it’s a typo, 50!   A well deserved round of applause for the PD team!

Now, I could paste all 50 of the CRs with their description in this blog, but it would take up considerably too much bandwidth and might cause the SCN to crash, so instead I’ve attached them in a file (TCH_1655.4734.txt ) that you can download at your leisure.   This file is also included in the release and can be found in your PowerDesigner directory after install.

So, go forth, download, design and enjoy the Summer!
