Portal Role(s) mapping to ABAP Group in CUA

What is Central User Administration (CUA)?

CUA is a SAP system to which all the SAP systems in landscape are connected through RFC connections. This enables user to perform user maintenance for all the connected systems from one central CUA system. It is very useful in a large landscape consisting number of SAP systems; it becomes very convenient job for performing user administration for all connected systems via CUA.

Portal Role mapping to ABAP group


Step 1: Create an ABAP Group

Log into CUA system
Go to PFCG T-Code
Specify a Role name /wp-content/uploads/2015/06/1_736447.png
Menu Role -> Create -> Role /wp-content/uploads/2015/06/2_736448.png

– Provide description

– Leave destination field blank

– Save

Once created perform “Text Comparison for CUA system”

from Environment Menu

Step 2: Portal role mapping to ABAP group


Action Screenshot

Once you have done Text

Comparison for CUA system.

ABAP group will be visible

in portal under User administration.

– Select Group

– Click assigned roles

Click modify

Search for role, add and save Portal_Role.PNG



Step 3: Assignment of Portal role to user


It is very simple task. Follow below steps:

1.     Log into CUA system

2.     Go to SU01 T-code

3.     Specify user and modify

4.     Assign ABAP group Z_SID_BW_HANA to user

This is it.
