At Sapphire 2015 in Orlando I was excited to show customers how SAP HANA Cloud Integration the strategic cloud integration solution from SAP connects to edge platforms like WindRiver and correlate this data with HANA based cloud applications like SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service. Customers and analysts were excited to see this and learn more.
After the success at Sapphire I was pleased when the experts from WindRiver reached out to me asking me to present at their IoT Technology Forum in Frankfurt. The target I have for the keynote session is to showcase how SAP is driving customer value leveraging the powerful solutions for IoT.
In my keynote session I will not go into the nuts and bolts of the technology but rather focus on how SAP’s IoT portfolio is driving business transformation at customers. I would talk about the impact of information technology on HealthCare especially in the area of Cancer Research and how leveraging the SAP HANA Platform we released the Medical Research Insight solution that helps patients and doctors work together on creating personalized medicine to help battle cancer and other diseases.
I would also talk about examples like Predictive Maintainence which is a typical use case in IoT and how with SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service you can analyze large volumes of operational data and apply predictive insights in real time, for the foresight you need to increase asset availability and satisfaction levels.
Also examples like Smart Cities and how SAP can help improve the quality of life in large urbanizations will be very interesting. If time permits I would also like to talk about Connected Car and how you can turn your car into a sales channel and also about the Precision Farming use case of IoT helping farmers produce higher yields using fewer chemicals in a very precise way.
With all these examples I want to showcase that IoT is changing business and life as we know it. For SAP, the Internet of Things starts with its software but I want to highlight how it is going to be services all the way down. Feels great to outline the fact that SAP is the only company that transforms IoT right from the core but all the way to the edge.
I would like to end by quoting from actual customer examples like Harley Davidson who enabled responsive Manufacturing, John Deere, Kaeser Compressors and the Hamburg Port Authority all who have gone through this business transformation using SAP’s IoT portfolio of solutions.
