SolMan to Cloud Setup: Basic Setup for Monitoring SAP Based Hybrid Solutions

The SolMan 2 Cloud (S2C) Setup (Transaction S2C_SETUP) is the starting point if you plan to Monitor SAP Based Hybrid Solutions in your Solution Manager 7.10 (starting from SP13):

  • DELL Boomi
  • SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C)
  • SAP HANA Cloud Integration (HCI)
  • SAP SuccessFactors
  • SAP Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) with SP14

This is the prerequisites to Exception Management (EXM) and Interface and Connection Monitoring (ICMon).

Exception Management will collect errors and exceptions directly from your Cloud Service using HTTPS connections.

Interface and Connection Monitoring will integrate these errors into the Monitoring and Alerting Framework. Notifications and Incidents can be automatically created in case an error is occurring in your Cloud Service.

      Hi,

HTTP Services are called to collect data (SOAP, ODATA, ...) on Customer Cloud Services.

      Some documentation:

Public Cloud Operations - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

Setting up Exception Management for Cloud Services

      Cheers,

      Stephan

      Hello Stephan,

      please share more details.

Which alerts or processes can be monitored?

      Regards,

      Julia

Errors and exceptions are extracted from the Cloud Services and pushed to Exception Management. Then Solution Manager alerts can be triggerd with ICMon.

      Hello Stephan,

      how does it look like?

For example: what's the difference between getting e-mails for alerts from web service message monitoring and getting alerts from solution manager?

What do you mean with "errors and execptions"? Which errors and exceptions?

      Regards,

      Julia

SolMan to Cloud Setup is the prerequisite to manage Could Services into Solution Manager. The error and exceptions exposed by the Cloud Services (applications errors, system errors) can be collected by Exception Management (EXM in Root Cause Analysis) and these collected exceptions can be forwarded to System Monitoring (MAI) with Interface and Connections Monitoring (ICMon) in order to generate MAI alerts.

      Hello Stephan,

      thank you.

Can you provide screenshots how it looks like?

I want to know if the investment in configuration is profitable.

If I can do the same monitoring via emailalerting directly from C4C tenant there is no benefit for us. For those who use MAI already it is another case.

      Regards,
      Julia

      Hello Julia,

Can we monitor the integration between Cloud(C4C) and On-Prem(CRM) using solman?

We configured C4C monitoring on solman. So far it is triggering Application errors and System errors.

      Hello Sandeep,

I have no idea - we didn't configure this because we're still in doubt about the benefits.

      Regards,

      Julia

The benefit would be to get a notification or create an incident in case an error is occuring on C4C side.

We get an email from C4C directly in case of errors. And incidents we create directly in C4C.

For Cloud Services, Alerting is not configured via Exception Management Setup but via ICMon Setup. Here is the documentation: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechOps/Interface+and+Connection+Monitoring+Setup+for+Hybrid+Scenarios

      1. Right, but MAI is configured with ICMon

      2. Sounds like a certificate issue (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-63143) or a proxy settings issue. You can check the Logical Port in Transaction SOAMANAGER / Web Service Configuration / Consumer Proxy: CO_EMC4CCODQUERY_WEBSERVICE_MO

If the issue persists, open a Incident Message: SV-SMG-DIA-APP-EM
