DataGenius IV Launches! Tell Your Story, Change the World

The Data Visualization Community Unites for the Next #DataGenius Challenge

Formerly known as the DataGeek Challenge, DataGenius is the community for people around the world to use creativity, data, and visualization to solve complex problems with simple SAP solutions. It is a movement of the data community to discover and tell the most compelling stories using data in the name of solving real-world problems. New data visualization technologies allow us to uncover value from our data and discover new meaning. The DataGenius Challenge urges us to demonstrate how we can turn data into meaningful insight that allows us to take action  that will ultimately lead to change, however big or small. Join the movement today at www.sap.com/DataGenius

Watch the “What is Genius?” video:

Labelled DataGenius IV, this is the 4th episode of the popular challenge from SAP. Each year, thousands of DataGenius entries have been submitted by participants around the world (watch this recap video). This year’s challenge will run until the end of 2015 and feature a panel of data celebrity judges, including recent data visualization expert and speaker at TED and SAPPHIRE NOW David McCandless.

Shifting the DATA Genius IV contest to another website has made it difficult for newbies to upload their stories.

I personally came across many issues :

      1) Not able to download LUMIRA Desktop.

      2) After submitting my story I got a link which can be shared, I shared the link on various social networking websites however my connections could not see the images attached in the story. A big drawback as a story without visuals in nothing.

      3) SCN had a large base of viewers who could rate and comment on your stories.

      4) No Badges, No Points......Less motivation.

Anyway, I succeeded in creating  a Blog  and represent my story. I replicated the same story on SCN as well to have a broader viewer base.
