SAP Fiori or Screen Personas

Thanks to OPENSAP courses I’ve had the opportunity of achieving knowledge about these two technologies.

With this initial experience I’ve arrived to this understanding:

In a nutshell, Sap screen Personas has the purpose of making SAP users lives easier while using the same ERP/CRM transactions they are used to.

On the other hand, SAP FIORI proposes a new paradigm which integrates old and new technologies, leveraging the power of SAP HANA, in order to create powerful end user applications across different platforms.

Since both approaches have different purposes, it’s normal to have these questions:

  • Which of them suits better you current requirements ?
  • Which one will you start to implement first and from which one will you obtain the bets benefit ?

In my personal case,  I’m currently “TIED” to a customer which is still using ECC 6.0, and most customer companies in my country are still in the same situation, so probably a long time will pass while I’ll not be able to have my own answer (though I should be).

Probably many colleagues in emerging/growing economies could be in the same situation, however, I guess other community members could probably have a position yet which could give us a light and help us to drive our efforts in the right direction.

I hope to have my own conclusion soon so please “Stay tuned.. “.

I consider that, in a close future, Screen Personas will be the first step to introduce the new paradigm to our users and sponsors.

You'll find the SAP Fiori information organized here in this space and the All Things SAP Fiori page should guide you to the information you seek. You will find some excellent sources of insight for Screen Personas in the User Interface Technology space, and you might also like some of the feature comparison options in the UX Explorer.
