SAP’s Jayne Landry said this included a simplification progress report. Note that Figure 3 shows a new Data Center Management launch
As a background, information need to think what is in 4 walls and outside 4 walls
Transactions and now conversations being recorded, social media – not what just is said but who is talking including your key influencers. Data now includes conversations, transactions, machines includes embedding sensors
Today less than 10% employees have access to analytics to do their work. Analytics remains #1 priority for CIO’s
Today the needs include empower an IT framework to deliver data quickly and provide agility to business users; to provide agility and flexibility. It includes the ability to provide trust and scale using Enterprise BI solutions, for both on premise and in the cloud and move the move apps to the cloud and BI will follow.
Simplification update

Figure 4 on the right shows the progress to date on the convergence of tools, including Web Intelligence Freehand SQL, convergence with Explorer with facets in Lumira (“Two thirds of way there), search with Lumira experience
Interoperability with Lumira includes Visualize and compose room with the prep server side
Lumira Server for BI Platform is available to manage Lumira docs on BI Platform
SAP plans to launch BW Lumira Acquisition mode in a few weeks
Today you can export Design Studio data to Lumira to start a visualization story
Design Studio has a self-service dashboard experience with a prebuilt template and a BW online experience in real time and an Explorer like experience
Web Application Designer customers are adopting Design Studio for large scale projects, says SAP
SAP says XCelsius customers should look at Design Studio 1.5 for XCelsius style controls
Interoperability piece includes going from Analysis Office to Design Studio and support of all BI clients in Mobile BI

Q: Where is Predictive Analytics positioned?
A: see Advanced Analytics as a key part; many don’t have data scientists in organization – bring Predictive capabilities into Lumira using visual discovery
Q: Where does BusinessObjects fit in this landscape?
A: SAP BI platform delivers the trust and scale; integrates with Lumira
