Territory Management reflects the market view of the organization.

Organizational model reflects the internal view of the organization.

Changes to the territory occurs more frequently because market requirements can change often (like new product category introduced,  new area in the city,  to split one territory into multiple territories or merge territories etc)

In SAP CRM, we can define levels of the Territory according to our business requirements.

Example.

Level 0 : Region/Area

Level 1 : Pin code

Level 2 : Product Category

Level 3 : Products

Following is the Basic Configuration steps of Territory Management in SAP CRM for Technical consultants to quickly set up and play.

1. Create Territory Hierarchies.

SPRO -> CRM -> Master Data -> Territory Management -> Define Territory Hierarchy levels

2. WEB UI(Sales Role) -> Sales Operations ->  Territories

Define different levels as below.

3. Create a Rule

3.1 Choose Rule Set

3.2 Selecting Available conditions (in this case I am keeping it simple and choosing only Account ID)

/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/image_696488.png

4. Now click in “NEW”(Customer 123/198 were added).

When a ever a customer 123/198 were added in the Business Transaction (TA), Territory A2111111 should be automatically determined.

When ever a new relationships like this are created or existing rules modified, you have to run the report CRM_TERRMAN_PROC_REL in order to update the relationships and make this territory(A2111111) available in the business transaction.

(Be patient, it may not reflect immediately or determine the territory immediately when you create a sales order. After running the job, give it 2 to 3 hours and then try creating the sales order)

Rule is : Input Account ID : 123/198 then Territory (A2111111) is returned.

Release the “Rule”

  1. SAP CRM

    Thanks for providing detailed document.

How can we transport the territory management with rules and rulesets to Quality and Production system ?. Do we need to manually maintain in each system manually. I have seen the procedure of transporting rules and rulesets, trying to understand how can we import the territory hierarchy with rules

Should it ask for a customizing request? I did this in a standbox system and i thought i saved it in a customizing request but did not manage to find it in a customizing request after you asked this question.

if not then it should be a cut-over activity in production..Any one help?

        Thanks Vinay.

We can add the rules to a transport request and transport it, but i don’t see any use as we cant be able to add rules to a new territory management we setup in production or quality ( as the terrirtory hierarchy with rules cant be transported ).

        hope u r doing good

Do we need to implement SAP SD for having CRM and/or IS-U in future. We are planning to implement SAP core modules now have our billing system that creates invoices for hardware and services such as TV and internet etc. Should we implement SD module too and integrate our billing through SD with billing or do integration directly of billing directly with Fi? Do we really need to implement SD and in future we plan to implement CRM too.

        Please guide us.

        Thanks in advance

          Hi Sultan,

As per my understanding SAP SD module needs to be implemented.

“We are planning to implement SAP core modules” SD is core module.

With regards to SAP CRM, there is tight integraton between SD & CRM in terms of master data- customer , material , pricing.

          regards

          Sharad
