University Alliances is pleased to announce that one of our top universities in Latin America has conducted three different events covering the four pillars to which University Alliances Latin America is committed reaching almost 500 students. The Javeriana University hosted the SAP Faculty Day, the SAP HANA Cloud Platform CodeJam and a Career Fair where teachers and students were able to learn more about SAP new and innovative solutions.
SAP Faculty Day and SAP Codejam on April 13, 2015
Our first event was held on April 13 where more than a 100 students, teachers and graduates from 4 different universities and belonging to the faculties of engineering and business administration gathered in the auditorium “Marino Troncoso” to know about the latest trends in technology that SAP offers these days. The event was welcomed by Cesar Ayala from SAP and Jorge Luís Sánchez Téllez Dean of Engineering from Javeriana University, where both highlighted the importance of the alliance with SAP and the importance of millenials joining the workforce.
Four SAP experts were the ones in charge of telling to our guests related topics about cloud, BIG DATA, Analytics, Internet of things and mobile apps. They used the story telling technique, and introduced the audience to a fictional character “Juan” a student from Javeriana, and told us how Juan’s life was affected with SAP’s technology. At the end we share some news of SAP UA program.

During the break a contest took place, where different participants had to move to the stage and jump as high as possible. The jump was measured by the Xbox Kinect system and data were collected by our experts from SAP. The three students that jumped the highest were the winners of a power bank with the SAP logo, making a small demonstration of the power of BIG DATA.
But the day did not end there, and after a successful Faculty Day, 25 students from Javeriana University belonging to the IT faculty had the opportunity to participate in our SAP HANA CLOUD PLATFORM CodeJam given by Aaron Williams who is Product Manager with SAP’s HANA Cloud Platform focusing on the Internet of Things for the last 3 years.
After a delicious pizza Margarita these 25 students were put into the task of developing an application in just four hours using our HCP technology.
Career Fair on April 12, 2015 (21/4/2015)
The following week was carried out the career fair at the same University. Over 30 multinational companies, most of them SAP costumers, participated in this career fair with the main purpose of recruiting the best Colombian talent. SAP Colombia could not miss this opportunity and together with Human Resources was presented, represented by me, Sergio Revollo in this great event where over 200 students came to our stand to learn more about our company and hear about job chances such as Internships and young professional opportunities.
