I’ve already written some tips for abstracts Call for Speakers: Abstracts Being Accepted for ASUG SAP Analytics BusinessObjects Conference but I was asked to share more tips and frequently asked questions:



FAQ:

Can I submit multiple abstracts?

Yes, multiple abstracts are welcome

Will ASUG reimburse travel expenses?

ASUG does not reimburse travel expenses but if your abstract is selected you get to attend the conference for free (conditions apply to multiple speakers)

What if I have no experience in public speaking?

ASUG offers a series of webcasts for speakers and typically at the end there is an open forum to ask questions.

How long are the sessions?

Education sessions are typically 60 minutes long with 45 minutes presentation and 15 minutes question & answer

Why should I present?

This is an opportunity to showcase yourself and your company and plus you will get free registration to both ASUG SAP Analytics BusinessObjects Conference and the ASUG Business One Conference.  You can be attendee and learn from other customer stories. It is a chance to network.

Are multiple speakers allowed?

Yes, please note the policy from ASUG:

“One (1) primary and (1) secondary presenter who is identified at the time of abstract submission and whose abstracts are accepted will receive a complimentary registration to the conference, provided at least one of the speakers is an SAP customer. Secondary presenters who do not qualify for a complimentary registration are welcome to attend the event at a discounted speaker registration rate and will be listed in the event marketing material.

All accepted speakers must complete their registration by the deadline to confirm their participation at the event. Sessions are subject to cancellation if registration is not completed by this time. Note: complimentary registration invites may be withdrawn if the deadline is not met.

Complimentary registration eligibility is tied to the content that is accepted and is non-transferable. Therefore, if for any reason a speaker is unable to present the content that was accepted, his complimentary registration will be revoked.

Eligible speakers will only receive one complimentary registration invite regardless of the number of sessions they are presenting at the event. Note: Complimentary registration invites are non-transferable.

All speakers are required to be ASUG members in order to present at 2015 ASUG SAP and Analytics BusinessObjects Conference.

I have a topic but cannot find the right track – what should I do?

Feel free to e-mail speakers@asug.com or select the “OTHER” option

What type of presentation focus areas are available ?

I recommend that abstracts focus on best practices, return on investment, cost savings, lessons learned, “war stories”, case studies.  Customer stories are always preferred.

I submitted my abstract, what are the next steps?

ASUG volunteers will review the abstract – if selected, you will be notified by ASUG Chicago Office by mid-June
