My children like to point out that I am old.

Like every day.

“Dad, your clothes are so old.”” Dad, your shoes are so old.” “Dad, the way you comb your hair is so old.”  Admittedly, they have a point.

I tend not to be a first, second or third mover when it comes to new things.

In fact, there is a natural inclination to gravitate towards the known. As detailed in a 2012 article in the Harvard Business Review, loss of control, loss of face, and excess uncertainty are just a few reasons people don’t rush headlong into the new and innovative.

So what’s to be done about this? We all inherently know innovation is the key to success. If one needed further proof, take a quick look at this article from chairman and CEO of Proctor and Gamble, A.G. Lafley.

Innovation is the driving force for growth, enhancing capabilities and entering new markets faster. Yet, oftentimes the biggest hurdle in embracing the new is a sense of security and confidence. Will this work? Will it complicate things? Will I wind up looking like Justin Bieber?

SAP Service and Support serves as the perfect way to overcome those points of concern when you consider innovations for your organization.

At SAPPHIRE NOW, innovations will be on display everywhere; from Cloud to S/4 HANA. And, if you’re like me, you’ll be intrigued but think, “I’ll consider this, just as soon as that get that whole 8 track tape player thing figured out.” Because as cool as it is, innovation can be a bit daunting.

The 30,000 professionals across the globe that make up the SAP Service and Support organization work to overcome those concerns. We can help you better understand not only the business opportunities you can achieve, but the business outcomes you can realize with innovation.  We start with a roadmap built on achieving those business outcomes. We utilize best practices derived from the thousands of implementations we have done, so you know you are using proven methodologies. And we work hand in hand with SAP Development, so we know exactly what the software can do, and where it is going next. This means your bold step forward is built for today, and tomorrow.

So come visit us at the SAP Service and Support center at SAPPHIRENOW this year. Participate in our interactive workshops on Cloud, S/4HANA and other innovations. Talk to our experts, and our customers, about how you can leverage innovation for your organization today.

And who knows? Perhaps we’ll have a chance to meet each other there as well! I’ll be the one with the new haircut
