Design studio – MS BusinessObjects Analysis Edition for Office report as data source

Hi All,

This document explains the steps to use MS Business Objects Analysis Edition for Office report as datasource for Design studio.

Scenario:

We need to show a Company code and an actual in a cross tab but we don’t have any query which shows only those data.

In such a scenario, either we can add a report and edit the initial view or we can create a report in advanced analysis as required and add it as a data source in design studio.

If we use MS Business Objects Analysis Edition for Office report, we can do all the sorting in the report as required and it can be added as a data source.

Step 1:

Execute the report in MS Business Objects Analysis Edition for Office.

Step 2:

Modify the report as required .

Step 3:

Right click Smart Copy

Step 4:

Goto Design studio, open the application.

Right click on data source and click smart Paste

Report will be added as modified and it will be shown in the cross tab.
