(0:12 – 3:10) APL Overview and Reference Guide
First open a web browser and navigate to help.sap.com/pa20 to view the main page for SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0. The APL is closely connected to SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0. SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0 is a combination of the KXEN technology (infinite insight) and the SAP Predictive Analysis technology. Both are joined together as a single solution. With SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0 we can run code within the SAP HANA server and this is where the APL fits in.
To get the documentation click on Development Information and download the SAP Automated Predictive Library reference guide. You will need to log into the market place in order download it.
APL requires SAP HANA SPS09. Section 2 of the reference guide covers how to install and set up the APL. You will need system administrator rights on your SAP HANA system in order to install the APL.
(3:10 – 5:40) Download APL
Go to support.sap.com/swdc and click on Support Packages and Patches. Click on A-Z Index and navigate to the letter P. Choose SAP Predictive Analytics, expand Comprised Software Component Versions, expand PRED ANALYTIC APL 2, and then click on Linux on x86_64 64 bit. Now download the 30 MB file and unzip and extract the file locally. The extracted folder contains both an installer folder for your system administrator and a samples folder. The samples folder’s content will be used throughout this video series.
