It's just around the corner, this year's Sapphire will take place in Orlando Florida on May 4-7, 2015.

As always, there will be exciting news coming from Sapphire, especially focused on S/4 HANA, and how it will impact the utilities industry.

Some key sessions I would like to highlight include:

Monday May 4 8:15-
9:15 – The Utility of the Future – Simple, Secure

The race to the future utility is underway. The converging forces resulting from the dramatic changes in consumer, information, business and operation technologies are propelling us forward into change. It is difficult to persist in the status quo and disruption is real. So how do we prepare and what innovations are necessary to enable the future intelligent energy company? The challenge is, as we transform, how do we think, visualize, control, manage and secure this new operational environment? How do we
modernize the grid to deliver improvements in safety, reliability, reduced costs and the bottom line? CenterPoint Energy has focused on designing, building and delivering value in our race to the future utility. The path over the last several years has delivered the foundational components and benefits of the smart grid. Advanced metering and distribution control built a foundation to advance operational systems and help us prepare for the dynamics of a new market. A re- focusing on the customer experience is being enabled through our SAP investments in CRM, HANA and Mobility. The convergence of IT and OT drove the evolution to a new organization and function, CenterPoint
Technology Operations. The morphing of information technology disciplines with the drive and focus of business operations is enabling the innovations of the future.
