For Outlook Integration with C4C, SAP provides an Add-In which is installed for your MS Outlook. So according to me, enhancing this Add-In might not be possible for us.
SAP provides a standard Add-on for integrating Outlook with C4C. This means that the access & rights to change this 'Add-on' reside with SAP. As of today, no partner/customer have access to change the add-on per their custom requirements, however, if there is a critical need for any customer of your, you should raise this with SAP to see if they can push the enhancement with the subsequent Add-on in next releases.
For Outlook to C4C, we manually sync the Activities so this can be restricted however I am not sure if this can be restricted the other direction since I see no specific setting restricting it. Moreover this add on must have been designed to sync C4C activities with Outlook and the user can keep the track on their activities simply through their mailing devices. (Remembering the fact users do keep their mobile devices sync with mail box not only to access mails but also their appointments and meetings, this feature of fetching C4C activities should actually facilitate them, just my thought on this 🙂 )
If I understand correctly, there's no way of restricting the sync as follows: only from Outlook -> C4C and not from C4C -> Outlook.
In my case, we would like to use the 'notes' field on Appointment for a meeting report, which could afterwards be mailed to specific emailadresses, and can be consulted by C4C-users (summary functionality)
However, we don't want all invites of the meeting to be able to see the meeting minutes. In the current setup, all invites will see the changes in the notes field in their Outlook meeting request. (due to sync C4C -> Outlook)
Hi Chandan, I got a question from my customer. They asked if they can set a default due date for their outlook tasks in C4C, like task creation date + 7 days. Is this possible somehow? Thanks, Petra
Per my understanding this is only possible through the Outlook Add On. I will suggest you to mention this as the suggestion in SAP C4C Idea Place and wait for SAP to respond.
Swapnil, seems like you have not scoped in Outlook Integration in project scope. You will have to check in the relevant question for it. Regards,Chandan
Excellent stuff, Chandan. Keep them coming.
Thanks for the motivation Pushkar. 🙂
Good one. Thanks for Sharing Chandan.
Thanks Prasad. 🙂
Hello everybody 🙂
can you tell me if it is possible to implement customer specific enhancements for the outlook integration?
If yes, is there any documentation?
Thank you and BR,

Hello Chandan,
thank you for your answer!
Pushkar can you give me an answer if it possible to enhance the AddIn? Or anybody else from SAP 🙂
BR, Roman
Hi Roman,
No its not possible at the moment. What kind of customer specific enhancements are you looking at?
Regards,
Ankan
Thanks for the confirmation Roman. You said,
Does this mean, right now we have at least some functionality that exists to be customized? If so can you please elaborate ?
No, customers/partners can NOT extend the add-in as of today.

Wonderful document Chandan.
Thanks Murugesan 🙂
Hi Chandan
do you know if we can limit what is synced - so maybe we want to sync up accounts but not activities?

Hi Chandan, thank you. 🙂
Thanks Chandan, very handy post!
Will you be updating this if anything changes in the coming releases, please?
Thanks a lot Thomas for taking some time to look into this. 🙂
I will surely edit and add the changes if any in future ... conditions applied, I myself should get some chance to explore those changes!
Hope you understand.

Petra,
In Fine-Tune activity under Business Config ->Implementation Projects, check the below activities to see if your requirement can be met:
> 'Business Task Management for Overdue Task Activity for Owner'
> 'Business Task Management for Overdue Task Activity for Processor'
> 'Business Task Management for Task Activity processor change'

Hi
I am getting following error when i try to log on from Outlook Addon.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this ?

Swapnil

That correct . Thanks Chandan .
While sync the contact, as our system has the language field as mandatory, the sync is getting failed.
Even though, I set up the "Language" in the " Personal Fields" section of Contacts @Outlook .. it is not working...
Any idea ?
This is not supported with the add-in.
Hi all,
