Lumira Overview and Roadmap Webcast Notes

Server for HANA on the right has been around for a while. The teams is a departmental solution
Customers with BI4 want Lumira without HANA, and offering the add-on to the BI Platform
It will allow you to view the Lumira content on the BI Platform.

Coming soon to Lumira is the ability to drill down on multiple charts

SAP is “pleased with the extensions”. The speaker said to go to github for extensions.

In the market now SAP has Lumira Server for Teams
The SAP speaker recommends BI4.1 SP5 for the platform add-on

The speaker said they are “Continuing to innovate, adding capabilities around multiple sources”
Lumira is “becoming a first class citizen of BI platform”. Coming soon also is support for BW – acquisition mode, direct connection
Question and Answer
Q: Just to clearly understand, the UNX connection capability… is not currently supported by Lumira now, but is available with an extension package from a SAP partner. And it’s planned in the near future to be a native feature, right?
A: it is an sap extension. Planned very near future.
Q: How move to BI4?
A: Do a save as to BI Platform; when add-on is installed (coming in Q2) – when click on Lumira document you will open in a viewer experience depending on rights
For BI-add-on BI4.1 SP5 prerequisite; HANA Is not required
Q: Which license
A: This is part of the BI Suite License
If BI Edge – then it is an additional license cost
Support for tools for the life of the platform
Q: BW support?
A: BEx query support is coming in the middle of the year
Q: Connectors? Google Analytics
A: constantly adding connectors can also look to partners for this
Q: Velocity?
A: this is not HANA, not Microsoft – it is embedded on desktop and server editions; run on existing – it is a lightweight in memory engine
Q: Sizing information?
A: Will release addendums to sap.com/bisizing
