This was the question & answer from this week's SAP Webcast on What's New with Lumira 1.23.  As the webcast covered the same slides shown here What's New in SAP Lumira 1.23 (summary) I won't repeat them here but just share the question and answer as I heard it.

Question & Answer:

Q: Are these currency symbols also dynamic? Or they are used currently only for fixed currencies?

We should have only one currency in order this feature to work.... if we have more than one then it will not work right

A: Applies to the measure, if the measure is USD, assign USD symbol, with different currencies you might want to have a different measure

Q: Are you able to apply new datasets to existing visualizations?

If I have two identical datasets, one containing 2014 data and the other with 2015 data (same structure) can I "Duplicate" a visualization and assign one to have 2014 numbers and the other to have 2015?

A: You can duplicate visualizations

Q: With the new in-memory engine, is there a size limit to how large you can make your dataset? E.g. 10M rows?

Q: Is it possible to "save as...” Lumira document from Lumira Desktop 1.23 to Lumira Server Edge?

A: Not aware of this

Q:  Is there any way to start down a path of analysis and create an elaborate storyboard and then be able to repoint it to another dataset?

A: No; will take as interesting input

Q: What about new functionality with SAP BW Dataset?

A: Not in 1.23

Q:  With the new in memory engine, does Lumira has a higher demand for memory size on the client? If yes, what is the minimum RAM size recommended?

A: Not about higher memory demand, it is about supporting the underlying query calculation more efficiently

Q:  I presume recover works because Lumira is auto saving in the background, if so how often does this occur?

A: give user the choice of different time intervals

Q: If a custom grouping is created on the Prepare tab,   can the grouping be removed?  I can only seem to remove a grouping using the undo button.  But if many actions are done, that is not a good workflow.

A: do not know

Q: SAP IQ which was already installed wasn’t in memory DB?

A: no

Q: After publishing the story to SAP BI can we view it on the Netweaver Portal using the Business Objects Document Viewer iView template?
