The “Wirtschaftsinformatik” is the leading business information systems conference in the German speaking countries. Digital products and processes for the enterprise of the future was the topic of the WI 2015 which has been held on the three days from March 4 until March 6, 2015.

The attractive program brought together business and science with the motto “Smart Enterprise Engineering”. The scientific program comprised 12 tracks and extended over all three days. The business program concentrated on the first two days. Day 1 (Wednesday, March 4, 2015) focused on the “Digitization in Small and Medium-sized Companies”. Day 2 (Thursday, March 5, 2015) had the motto “Digital Business Models”.

SAP has been the main gold sponsor for this conference for many years. In 2015, SAP again acted as one of the main sponsors of the conference. The sponsoring package included, amongst other things, the keynote, presence in the conference program and advertising materials, free conference tickets, and a booth in the exhibition area.

SAP had the opportunity to hold a keynote. Steffen Fischer, Global Program Manager, Scale, Enablement and Transformation at SAP SE, used this speaking opportunity to give a speech entitled ‘The Cloud is not the Limit’.

SAP University Alliances and the University Competence Centers were present with a booth throughout the whole conference. Conference attendees had the possibility to get insights into the latest curriculum projects and new product innovations like SAP HANA. In addition, the new UA strategy was further promoted to the academic world.

Our workshop with the subject ‘Innovations in Teaching and Research’ was held by Stefan Weidner from SAP University Competence Center Magdeburg. Stefan Weidner introduced the program of SAP University Alliances. In addition he presented different types of contracts especially our new Research contract.
