SAP TechEd BLR – DMM206 – Compliant Archiving with SAP Information Lifecycle Management

SAP TechEd Bangalore got off to an exciting start today and will go on till the 13th of March 2015. From the SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) team, we have a 2 hour lecture session on 12th March. The lecture session is titled “Compliant Archiving with SAP Information Lifecycle Management” and focuses on the various solutions available to enable compliant archiving. Here is a sneak look at the agenda of the session.

Overview of SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM)

SAP ILM has evolved over the years but the core principles still remain the same. For attendees who are new to SAP ILM, we will introduce the features which are part of SAP ILM and the various benefits they provide to customers.

Compliant storage using ILM Store

ILM Store is a new innovation and we will introduce the motivation, concepts and architecture behind the ILM store. We will also show a short demo of the customizing options involved in the ILM Store setup.

System decommissioning – New faster and generic approach

Legacy Extraction Workbench is a new tool which was a result of a Design Thinking workshop with some key customers. This tool enables faster and efficient decommissioning of both SAP and non-SAP legacy systems. We will explain the steps involved in decommissioning using the workbench along with a demo.

Reporting on decommissioned data using SAP HANA

Reporting on decommissioned data is undergoing drastic changes because of the aggressive need to support business users. Using the power of SAP HANA, we can empower business users to run reports on decommissioned data in the same way they run reports on live data. We will show you how this can be achieved using Retention Warehouse on SAP HANA.

Future Trends

How do ILM solutions look as we transition to the cloud? What are the new innovations which you can expect from SAP in the future? You will get all the answers to these questions and more when we present the future direction of SAP ILM.

We will also be available as part of the “Meet the Expert” sessions from 11 AM to 11:30 AM (Expert Lounge 3) and 3 PM to 3:30 PM (Expert Lounge 4). We can discuss about the topics part of the lecture session as well as new innovations in the ILM area like data aging and Fiori applications for archiving.

Hope to see you at SAP TechEd Bangalore.
