What are the differences between EPM Rapid Deployment Solutions and Starter Kits?

Both the IFRS starter kit and the SAP Financial Close and Disclosure Management Rapid Deployment Solution are detailed resources to enable a customer to begin using an SAP product more smoothly. In the form of actual content, these two are the same on a basic level. Apart from content, many additions have been implemented into the RDS to increase customer agility and convenience when getting started with an SAP product. One crucial addition for this RDS is the pre-defined integration with ERP leveraging, BW native integration, as well as service accelerators like test scripts and pre-defined project plans. This is done to further reduce the amount of time a customer needs to get an SAP product running on their business environment, and to achieve a faster and more successful implementation. In either case, the starter kit or the RDS, the software requirements are the same, and the RDS for Financial Close has been derived from the starter kit. But, in the meantime, SAKP has also added additional content to increase the value for our partners and customers. For example, the Financial Close and Disclosure Management RDS has added built-in segment reporting to analyze profit and risk situations within specific enterprise areas, and have the records be displayed on related balance sheets and profit & loss statements. Along with that, we have added EPM Unwired reports with BPC 10.1 to offer mobile reporting templates to accelerate the implementation. With such content, the amount of time customers need to implement an SAP product has overall been greatly reduced from months to only weeks with an RDS.

In a nutshell, what was formally known as the IFRS starter kit has now evolved into the Financial Close and Disclosure Management Rapid-Deployment Solution, with additional content and added reporting for US GAAP.
