Changes in HANA Cloud Portal Trial Landscape

Note: SAP HANA Cloud Portal was renamed to “SAP HANA Cloud Platform, portal service” in May 2016.

SAP HANA Cloud Portal delivers new features and updates on a biweekly basis. Recently, we’ve introduced the SAP Fiori launchpad, which runs on SAP HANA Cloud Platform as part of the Cloud Portal offering. The Fiori launchpad allows our customers to consume business data from on-premise and cloud systems using the Fiori user experience.

In addition to delivering the SAP Fiori launchpad, we have also added several enhancements, such as integration with SAP Web IDE (allowing you to easily build Cloud Portal widgets using predefined templates), new multi-language support and more. You can find details about the latest Cloud Portal features in our Release Notes page on SCN.

With the upcoming release of Cloud Portal, we also intend to refresh our Trial environment, and clean up outdated content. As of February 26, all Cloud Portal Trial accounts that have not been active for the last six months will be reset. Users of inactive Trial accounts who wish to hop back on the train are welcome to build new portal sites with the updated tools.

NOTE: this cleanup is relevant only to the Trial landscape. There will be no impact on the productive landscape used by our productive customers!

      Hi Ifat

      Has the clean up/reset of the trial accounts already occurred?

      I notice I have to enable the cloud portal service on my trial account admin page. Also the links I had bookmarked to my trial site no longer work. There is a link to the site I created at the bottom of my post here.

      Hi Robert,

      The cleanup took place yesterday. In case you had any critical content on your trial account we can check the option to restore it. Otherwise, I suggest to start a new site on a fresh account.

      I have created an HCP portal as per the instructions provided in the below link.

      I have following two questions,

      1) @ Page # 31 I would like to know if it's possible to add my company's portal?

      2) In order to create my own widgen its asking to provide URL to the spec XML. How do i create these spec XML.

      Hi,

      The Cloud Portal Marketplace currently represents site templates provided by SAP. In the future we plan to integrate external sites provided by customers/ partners that have been certified.

      You can find guidelines on a spec xml creation in the same tutorial on page #18.

      Thanks for your response Ifat. We are developing  a prototype on HCP Support portal  for creating CRM service tickets.

      1. I would like to know if there is a template available for Support Portal n market place?

      In the below video from SAP I see that there is a support portal template available in market place   Support Portal Administration - YouTube

      However,  Its not showing up for me in the Cloud Portal marketplace,?

      2. Also , Is there a way to get the source code for developing the service portal widgets (for view.js and controller.js files) with ODATA APIs.

      3. Can we use the SAP Fiori widgets and Odata services created for SAP Backend systems (ECC)? If yes, do we have standard code to call those ODATA services?

      Hi Sohail,

      The support site is a prepackaged solution delivered by SAP to enable self-service support portal integrated with C4C. The package is priced on top of the portal and is not available as a template.

      Do you have a prospect for support site or just running a POC? I'll be glad to support you with the best practice on how to build the widgets. You can contact me directly via email.
