While doing a  project, we were using the crystal report 2011 as a reporting tool and the request from the client side was to export the crystal reports into an excel format with borders..Whenever we developed the crystal reports with the borders using draw lines (Insert >Lines) and proceed to export the crystal report with borders into pdf/word, we were able to get the output with borders as shown below.


PDF:

But when we tried to export into an excel we were facing issue, the borders were not displayed as shown below,

Here I have presented how we solved this issue. It will be useful for new comers when facing this kind of  issues in crystal reports for exporting into excel.

Right click on the field in crystal report >Format Field >Change the Top and Bottom as single as shown below,

After changing we were able get the output with borders in excel format, shown below.
